About this project
Muraya Kontadó is the digital children's newspaper of Sint Franciscus College.
The wall that tells stories
Muraya Kontadó means "the storytelling wall". On the wall of Sint Franciscus College, murals tell the history of Curaçao: from the first inhabitants to The Blue Wave. Every mural has a story in Papiamentu, Dutch, English and Spanish.
From paper to digital
The first idea was a printed children's newspaper for the Dutch Children's Book Week, following the Siman di Kultura. It became a digital newspaper: always available, readable on phone, tablet and computer, and easy to share. That makes the motto of the Siman di Kultura come true: Di Kòrsou pa Mundu, from Curaçao to the world.
The Siman di Ban Lesa committee
The texts, quizzes, games and coloring pages were collected by the Siman di Ban Lesa committee of Sint Franciscus College, together with the principal, Mrs Jeanella Brute.
